The Whimsical Wings Butterfly Kits are in season April – September.
Delivery times will be 1-2 weeks after you place your order, depending on the weather. Per USDA regulations, we only ship to areas East of the Continental Divide.
Each kit contains:
- One milkweed plant
- One to two monarch butterfly eggs or caterpillars
- Magnifying glass so you can observe up close
- Spray bottle for misting chrysalis
- A netted cube to keep your milkweed and butterflies safely contained
- Instructions for caring for your butterflies and milkweed throughout the 30 days
- Lifecycle Poster
- Plant Tray
Whimsical Wings ships two caterpillars or eggs per plant. Two butterflies is the maximum number that one plant can sustain to adulthood. While we wish both caterpillars make it through their journey for you to release them, we realize Mother Nature is in charge. Our guarantee is that you see the process from start to finish successfully. If at least one of your caterpillars makes it to a butterfly, that is success.

What a wonderful Mother’s Day gift I received this year! Everything arrived in a very professional-looking box and caterpillars ready to go on a very healthy plant. But more importantly, I want to mention the top-notch customer service I got. It’s easy to be in business when things go right, but the real proof of business’s culture is how it operates when things go wrong.
